We will feature this time another special group called Z-Boys. For a bit of info, they are created with the aim to make K-Pop a global one. All members are non-Koreans, and all are Asians. The members are Perry (Taiwan), Mavin (Indonesia), Roy (Vietnam), Josh (Philippines), Sid (India), Blink (Thailand), and Gai (Japan).
(Also, Z-Girls was formed on the same lines. We will discuss this more on our next MV Review of them.)
You may wonder why they are also included here. Are they part of K-Pop or not? TheBiasList earlier stated that he will not review them. For him, Z-Boys and Z-Girls are not part of K-Pop. And for many, they are still confused on these.
They are part of K-Pop, hence this MV Review. They share many similarities, namely (1) under Korean label (Genie Music), (2) under Korean agency, (3) share common datestamps, (4) have own fandom name (GalaxZ), and (5) have various comebacks like other K-Pop groups.
We wish to see them performing at MAMA. We’ll see if MAMA will hold true to its term of being an Asian music awards. Well, anyway, let’s start our MV Review.
The storyline tells of their desire to break free. On the other hand, the darkness theme is present in the video. Their dance moves are energetic and can be easily learned at the same time.
They taught us the lesson of love, particularly on loyalty. When it comes to romantic relationship, we have to never let go of him/her, especially if he/she is special. We have to be persistent, never stopping as we expect the future for us.
As a whole, this video maintains the stronger side, which they showed since their debut. Musically, the thick beats provided added energy in the MV and the song. I also liked how they feature falling stars at the end, which implies their wish to fulfill their dreams. Meanwhile, they took inspiration from SEVENTEEN’s Happy Ending when it comes to settings.
For our final part, I have a joke:
Blink: Hi, Lisa. I’m Blink.
Lisa: …
