Momoland celebrates its 3rd Anniversary – this time without Daisy and Taeha:

If MLD Entertainment still goes unresponsive, we’ll save these pictures for future reference. Also, we will retype the statements.

The first statement reads as follows:

[Dabin] found another way through acting, but I feel sorry for Daisy and Taeha. They worked hard as the main vocal and main rapper, but they are taking a break by force. They have a contract so that’s the reason why they can’t protest this situation. I will cheer only Daisy and Taeha.

The second statement is retyped as follows:

My daughter is crying and they live calmly and shamelessly. I feel hot under the collar. I want to say don’t forget that the sky is looking at you. There is no peace in my mind. It’s just sadness and anger.

I want to find Daisy’s smile on her face again. Daisy is very sad now, but she will have a lot of power in your worries and love.

VAV (브이에이브이) – Poison

We will feature another underrated boy group named VAV, in their song Poison.

For a bit of info, they debuted last 2015, and currently has seven members. On how to pronounce it, this is called as V-A-V. Let’s delve more on the group as we review them:

Storyline as whole

VAV’s video starts with a member chanting Spanish numbers, but I find the storyline lacking. This is something they need to improve, since I find it difficult to decipher the storyline of the song.

Viewers might find caring dogs beneficial, as seen in 1:31.

The raps and upbeats sustains excitement throughout the whole song, only to end with melodramatic tunes. The climax part of the song can only be heard at first verse, which descends a bit upon the first chorus. There they did not the music drag too low, thereby sustaining the beats needed to keep the song alive.

Poison features consistently smoke, which might represent their hazy state. The most startling is at showing the snake, which normally is featured as poisonous creature.

Many similarities are apparent in their MV. In various instances, 0:11 shares similarities with BTS’ Blood, Sweat, and Tears. 0:23 – 0:25 reminds us of CLC’s Me, where Sorn is sitting together with the plants. Meanwhile, 2:21 and 2:59 shares similar alley with TRCNG’s Missing.

Review by others

Despite being underrated, VAV consistently receives promotions, which TheBiasList noted. However, they did not stick to their chosen genre, if any. Bad point is on the song being gloomy, only to be trapped with standard beats on opening. Also, they should experiment further on “rubbery” electronic sounds that would’ve made them stand out.

KPopReviewed told that Poison still does not garner attention, and it’s easily forgettable. Going further, the instrumental techniques now “lost the appeal…of the piano” that should’ve set direction. Some good elements not used makes song like this typical.

For visuals, same disappointment happens. The video would’ve been darker, which is ideal for a track like this. He only enjoys musical aspect, which stroke balance between verses and chorus hooks.

1THE9 (원더나인) – Blah (속삭여): MV Review

For the second time, we will review again 1the9, in their song Blah.

It’s October, and it’s good that they are catching up. They have to rush fast, as we have only five months remaining before their contract expires.

Storyline as whole

The story features a man walking aimlessly with a car going round and round. Another still features a man sitting down in a fence. Another holds lights and raises it. Meanwhile, they feature fireball, and fire scattering all over. Seeing it in a symbolic way, this means that they, having burning desires, are seeking the light to escape from despair and aimlessness.

1the9 made good deal featuring small TVs at 0:34. They also include traffic lights, which will tell the lesson on traffic rules.

The music uses high upbeats at the start, then goes quietly as they sing. And in fairness, I find it heartening when they made their dances in chorus simplified.

The author sees this as following the likes of SF9, SVT, and other groups who follow similar format. However, I have to see another factor that will make them stand out. Hopefully this be done as their last act before their contract expires.

1the9 also has to come up with better title, as I don’t see what’s in the title with respect to their performance. Another point for improvement would be on their storyline, which should’ve been explained in the descriptions.

As for 1theK, it should’ve focused more on providing a bit of storyline like in the past.

The scene at 2:43 – 2:49 shares similarities with IN2IT’s Run Away.

Review by others

TheBiasList is not surprised with 1the9’s near-expiry, and commented that this might be their last song. To add, this was really “blah blah,” without sense of purpose and direction. Despite all these, they manage to have decent melodies.

KPopReviewed backtracked a bit to review the group. He hadn’t reviewed it yet due to its being bland, unimaginative, and typical, lacking elements to stand out. This is also the result of conceptualizing inside the box. Breaking down, vocals and raps are fine, and the only saving grace is their moves.

Joketime

This title reminds me of ITZY:
