Second Prayer to All K-Pop Celebrities (2019)

“수고하고 무거운 사람들아, 나에게 오너라. 내가 너희를 쉬게 하겠다.”
마태복음 11:28 (KLB)

Let us pray.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for all the blessings you gave to artists just to entertain us.

Heavenly Father, we are seeking Your help in providing them physical, mental, and spiritual healing. Touch their hearts and give them relief from burdens, so that they may continue fully using their talents for Your glory and the glory of fellowmen.

Heavenly Father, give our artists necessary courage to deal with malicious remarks. Protect them from all dangers they are facing today. Help also our agencies in giving sufficient care to our artists, especially those in need.

Heavenly Father, we are imploring Your aid in providing them rest. Provide them the inner peace they need amidst troubles in this world. Help them draw closer to You, and let Your presence be known to them.

Heavenly Father, make Your Christian entertainment workers be the light of the world. Help them and arm them with knowledge and courage in spreading the Good News, especially to the rest of celebrities who are undergoing depression and battling various issues.

All of these we pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

Fr. Andrew Kim Taegon, pray for us.
St. Paul Chong Hasang, pray for us.
St. Peter Yu Taechol, pray for us.

Notes and Reflections on Goo Hara’s Death (Part 2)

Dedicated to Goo Hara and all K-Pop celebrities:

What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy

What if trials of this life…are Your mercies in disguise?

“Blessings”, Laura Story

K-Pop for this year is full of trials, the recent one with Kang Daniel suffering from depression. Mostly we see stars get depressed, commit suicides, or otherwise retiring and taking hiatus for various reasons.

The trials of K-Pop for this year proved that fame and material success can’t ultimately satisfy the spiritual and psychological hunger that K-Pop stars are experiencing for so many years. It does not really give inner peace and direction many stars wanted, to live a simple and happy life.

It proves that “Man does not live on bread alone,” as Jesus Christ quoted. In Korean:

‘사람이 빵으로만 살아서는 된다’ 라고 쓰여 있다.
누가복음 4:4b (KLB)

These deaths not only proved the inevitable decline K-Pop is facing, but also that the celebrities are humans like you and me. They feel sad and happy. They cry and laugh. They get hurt and depressed, too. Ultimately, they have the innate right to love, be loved, and enjoy life.

Stars are trained at a very young age, at a critical time where their maturity is not yet fully developed. Without proper advice from elderly/wise people and psychologists, these stars find it difficult to handle pressure and manage emotions. Not to mention pressure from fans and agencies for them to look good, be prim and proper, avoid “scandals”, etc. etc…

Korean society as a whole is still not solving the problem on depression taboos. Stigma is still present for those who are mentally challenged. Worse, suicides tend to be the normal case for them. What would be the turning point for Korean society to realize that this is a very serious problem?

Please be reminded again of this message:

It’s hard for me to enjoy K-Pop sometimes, because in the back of my mind, I’m always remembering how stressed and sad some of them are behind the scenes. I’m happy enjoying them perform, but are THEY happy?

All that goes through my mind when I’m trying to enjoy K-Pop and I’m scared sometimes that I’m going to hear someone I love in K-Pop that has taken his/her own life.

With the inherent situation facing all of our favorites, they are materially happy. But the big question is: Are our K-Pop stars also spritually/mentally/socially happy?

Join us as we will offer our prayer again to all of our favorites in K-Pop.

Public Service Announcement (December 11, 2019)

We’ll discuss changes in this site starting today.

With few reads, I might as well take a rest from doing various write-ups. I have many things to do at that point: Playing computer games, preparing for new work, strolling down memory lane, travelling and enjoying places I haven’t went before, and taking care of my health. I have to do this for several months starting 2020.

Sulli and Goo Hara made me realize that I have to enjoy life to the fullest, and not waste the limited time we have.

But don’t worry. If I have time and passion to do write-ups, this site will be still active.

MV Reviews

Except for 29 groups and soloists I follow, we have to limit reviews starting next year.

I will not review those groups with no reads on previous reviews. For instance, since there were no reads on WINNER’s Soso, I will not review them next time.

Special reviews will be given on underrated girl groups sometime. As to Cherry Bullet, failing grade will be given to them unless its issues are fixed. For Momoland, no more favors in their next releases.

Misheard Lyrics

I’ll still take on the final misheard lyric for 2019. But come 2020, we will shift gears on misheard lyrics. By next year, we will just focus on releases by well-known groups. Underrated and debut groups will be included only to fill the gap.

Love Advice

The future of love advice is still uncertain, since love problems are being heard over and over again.

We’ll also change the e-mail address as the same is burdened with too much messages. Please send your love problems to tweetnewscaster@gmail.com.

Other topics

I will not cover anymore topics under #DuterteSerye, but we’ll try to answer questions on these if asked. Defending our President and his agendas are the primary job of its communications arm. And as we guess it, defending him proved to be an utter failure due to lack of their proactive approach.

This job was used to be handled by bloggers like ThinkingPinoy, For The Motherland, and others. But with some of them focusing on other matters, PCOO has to step up and fulfill its mandate.

Finally, I will not tackle any matters related to PH entertainment, unless it is funny or discusses the other side.

On Accounting, we will only focus on some tips and strategies to pass the CPA Board Exam.

We will continue featuring pictures on a regular basis, as pictures speak louder than words.
